Liverpool’s Spanish full-back Alberto Moreno is enjoying the competitive and unpredictable nature of the Premier League.

Moreno, who arrived at Anfield last summer, has been a big part of Liverpool’s resurgence in the last month or so and is now a crucial member of Brendan Rodgers’ in-form side.

Though bought as a left-back in the summer, Moreno is now flourishing in the role of a wing-back in Rodgers’ 3-4-3 system, which he has been using since last month.

A youth graduate of Sevilla, the 22-year-old made 45 appearances in La Liga before moving to Anfield and he admits that his experience in the Premier League is vastly different from what he encountered in Spain.

He believes the English top flight is much more competitive and most of the games are hard-fought, where the winners have to give their all to achieve the desired result.

He also finds the unpredictable nature of the Premier League, where any result is possible, enjoyable and feels it provides teams with ample opportunity to bounce back from a poor start to their season.

“The league here is very intense and very competitive”, the Spaniard told the club’s official site.

“It doesn't matter if you're playing against the top or the bottom team. Games are always hard-fought and you have to give everything.

“Every game is very costly to win and you cannot relax regardless of the team you are playing against.

“I actually find it good that you have to be alert and give everything throughout the 90 minutes, knowing that a turnaround can happen at any time in this league.”
