Neil Redfearn has dismissed the importance of Millwall giving his Leeds United side a few nervy moments yesterday at Elland Road, citing the legendary Brian Clough in the process.

Leeds dominated the first 45 minutes against Ian Holloway's men, but could only score once, the goal coming from an Alex Mowatt free-kick.

Despite their best efforts, the Whites could not add to their advantage, which meant as Millwall enjoyed a spell in the second half it was a nervous time for the home side, who knew one moment for the visitors could mean just a draw rather than a win.

But Redfearn feels Millwall were always going to have a spell and has dismissed the importance of Holloway's side putting their own plans into place at Elland Road.

"This was always going to be a difficult game for us with the magnitude of it. But we know there's a lot of football to play yet", he told LUTV.

"Listen, there's two sides in the game.

"It's like Cloughie used to say: 'Then they turn up. You practice all week and then the opposition turn up.'

"And he's right.

"It was always going to be a nervy, jittery affair at 1-0."

Redfearn's men have now won four of their last five games in the Championship, banishing relegation worries in the process and jumping up to 12th spot in the standings.

Next up for the Whites is an acid test however, with a trip to high-flying Middlesbrough on Saturday.

At present Leeds are 15 points off the playoff places.
