Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Benjamin Stambouli feels that fans in the Premier League are a lot more dedicated than their counterparts in France’s Ligue 1.

Stambouli arrived from French outfit Montpellier last summer and has made nine Premier League appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s side so far.

The Frenchman insists that in England fans flock to support their team and create a fantastic atmosphere to egg their team on. And their support isn’t just restricted to home games, but the fans also travel to far off away games to support their team.

“The fans are always there home and away”, Stambouli told the club site.

“For me it’s surprising because in France there were maybe 30 or 40 hardcore supporters who came to see us, but here there are always loads of fans everywhere we play!”

He further remarked that the support isn’t just restricted to the weekend Premier League fixtures, but their fans make a point to be at cup games, even on a Monday night.

“Even when we were up at Burnley on a Monday night in the FA Cup, Danny Rose and I went to watch the game with all the Spurs fans at half-time and the atmosphere was great.”

Spurs have lost only twice in their last 11 league games and have defeated fierce London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal in the process to stake a claim for a spot in the Champions League.

Stambouli will look to help Pochettino’s side register a home win over Fiorentina when they face the Italians in the first leg of their Europa League round of 32 tie on Thursday.
