Sam Allardyce has dubbed Tottenham Hotspur "lucky" for coming from behind to draw 2-2 with his West Ham team this afternoon at White Hart Lane, while suggesting Spurs players go to ground too easily.

West Ham went ahead in the 22nd minute when Cheikhou Kouyate headed the ball past Hugo Lloris, putting the visitors 1-0 in front.

Spurs went in search of an equaliser, but were given a sucker punch when Diafra Sakho turned in a Mark Noble cross just past the hour mark to make it 2-0 for West Ham; the Hammers looked all set for victory.

Tottenham though would not give up and eventually gave themselves hope when a mis-hit Danny Rose shot found the back of the net in the 81st minute.

The race to find an equaliser was on and the referee adding five extra minutes on at the end of the 90 presented Spurs with their chance.

West Ham midfielder Alex Song brought Harry Kane down in the box in the 95th minute, allowing the striker a chance to level from the penalty spot.

His initial shot was saved by West Ham goalkeeper Adrian, but Kane was first to the ball and slotted it home, earning Spurs a 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane.

Allardyce was left hugely disappointed at seeing three points slip through his side's fingers. And he accused Kane of looking to go down when Song touched him.

He told BT Sport: "You can't put your hands on anyone today otherwise they will go to ground and make the referee's mind up.

"You can argue whether Alex Song has made enough contact for Harry Kane to go down, but when you're desperate like Tottenham are, you get touched and the player is going to fall over.

"Maybe we should be more like Tottenham – we stay on our feet."

The West Ham boss also dubbed Spurs "lucky" for managing to claim a point from the fixture.

"They're so lucky today.

"One with the first goal – Danny Rose has mis-hit it – and the second goal Adrian saved the penalty and it has gone straight back to Harry Kane."
