Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that midfielder James Milner has made a full recovery from the knee injury which forced him out of the Citizens’ league match at the weekend and will be available to play against Barcelona tomorrow.
Milner was forced to sit out of Manchester City’s 5-0 thrashing of Newcastle United in their last Premier League fixture on Saturday.
The midfielder trained normally on Monday morning and his return to fitness augurs well for Pellegrini’s side.
The England international has been one the standout performers for the defending Premier League champions and in his 33 appearances so far in all competitions, Milner has scored five times and assisted a further eight goals.
Milner’s stellar form means he is likely to start against Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie due to be played at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow.

Speaking at pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow’s encounter, Pellegrini declared that Milner is fully fit.
“James Milner is 100 per cent fit", the Chilean said.
Manchester City however will miss the services of Yaya Toure who is still serving his suspension after getting a straight red card against CSKA Moscow in the group stage.
