Ashley Young feels Manchester United "never looked back" after taking the lead against Sunderland in their Premier League clash today, a game they won 2-0.

Gus Poyet's side set out to frustrate the Red Devils and soon found their plans working, with no goals scored in the opening 45 minutes and both teams headed off level at 0-0 at half-time.

However, in a bizarre turn of events, the match was completely changed. First the referee sent off Wes Brown for a foul on Radamel Falcao which actually appeared to have been committed by John O'Shea, and then Wayne Rooney smashed the ball home from the penalty spot, all over a two-minute spell from the 64th to the 66th minutes.

Sunderland were forced to chase the game and saw Rooney score again in the 84th minute to make sure of all three points for Manchester United.

2-0 to the home side was how it ended, Manchester United winning their eleventh of 14 home league matches this term. And Young feels it was fully deserved.
