Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio feels that focusing only on the Europa League isn't good enough for his team at the moment as they still have a long road to travel in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri suffered their first defeat in six matches as Fiorentina beat them 1-0 at the San Siro yesterday.

However, with still 13 matches to played in the league before anything is finally decided, Ausilio feels that it is not yet the right time to give up hope of managing a European spot at the end of the season.

The 40-year-old was quick to clarify though that focusing on the league won't deter them from the Europa League where they play German side Wolfsburg over the course of two legs on 12th and 19th March.

But the Italian giants will take each match as it comes and try to win them in order to make sure that they live up to the club's reputation.

"There’s a long way to go in the league", Ausilio told his club's official site.

"With 13 matches still to play, focusing on the Europa League only wouldn’t be right for a big team.

"We have two matches against Wolfsburg and we’ll make sure we’re ready for them.

"We can’t think too far ahead in the league – we need to take each match as it comes and approach every match looking to win."

Roberto Mancini's team, who are currently placed ninth in the league table, will play third placed Napoli next on 8th March.
