Roma president James Pallotta has rubbished claims that there were errors in Kevin Strootman’s earlier knee surgery and stressed that his latest injury has nothing to do with the cruciate ligament damage the midfielder suffered last year.
The Roma midfielder suffered a cruciate ligament injury early last year which forced him to miss the remainder of the 2013/14 Serie A campaign along with the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The midfielder, who has been consistently linked with Manchester United, returned to action for Roma in November, but hurt his knee last month and was forced to undergo one more operation – as a result he will not play again this season.
A former Roma doctor claimed that his latest injury is a result of the earlier surgery, which he feels was not performed perfectly and he also added that the midfielder might have to go under the knife again to repair the damage.
