Atletico Madrid have insisted they have no interest in signing Palermo striker Paulo Dybala after a meeting with one of the Argentine's representatives.

Dybala is on the way out of Palermo after rejecting a new contract with the Serie A club and president Maurizio Zamparini is trying his best to find a club willing to pay €40m for the player's services.

Dybala, who has scored regularly in Serie A this season, has been linked with Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, Juventus, Inter and Napoli.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, one of his representatives held a meeting with Atletico Madrid to see whether they would be interested in joining the race.

But Diego Simeone's men have made clear they are not in the market to sign Dybala.

The Spanish champions feel well stocked up front, with Mario Mandzukic and Fernando Torres, along with Mexico international Raul Jimenez.

The chase for Dybala's services is not likely to become any less intense as a result of Atletico Madrid's reluctance to become involved however, with a number of clubs still hopeful of snapping up a player who has been compared to countryman Sergio Aguero.
