Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn has revealed that club chairman Andrew Umbers has asked him to plan pre-season for the Whites.
Redfearn has still not been told whether he will be in charge of Leeds next season, despite making repeated pleas for his future to be resolved. He was also recently stripped of his assistant Steve Thompson, who was suspended without Redfearn being given prior warning.
However, in all the uncertainty the 49-year-old has been asked to plan the squad's preparations for next season by Umbers. And Redfearn already has a particular friendly in mind for the Whites, which he feels would be a good test before the campaign proper begins.
"I've started to put pre-season in place. I was asked to do so by Andrew Umbers", he told LUTV.
"I've got somewhere I want to go, I've got dates I want the boys to report back, the personal programmes will be put together, the boys will be spark tested last game of the season, that last week. Then they will be tested again when they come back in. Then we'll have 14 days of conditioning and then go away for a week, eight days, and then we'll be into the week coming into the start of the season.

"I've got good opposition to play for 1st August, before the games start. So I've got things in place and I'm planning as I've been told."
And Redfearn feels that now is a vitally important period for Leeds as the planning for next season really takes hold and the foundations are put in place.
"From now to put things in place this is the most important time, to put the foundations in for the season coming up."
Leeds are next in action tomorrow when they travel to London to lock horns with Charlton Athletic.
