Steve Evans believes Uwe Rosler has left him a fit squad at Leeds United, meaning he does not need to use the international break to put the players through the ringer.

Rosler was shown the door at Leeds last month following a string of poor results, with former Rotherham United manager Evans appointed as his successor on a contract until the end of the season.

Evans is breaking with his predecessor over the international break by not giving the players time off. But says he does not need to use the time to get the squad fitter as Rosler did thorough work in pre-season.

The Scot said at a press conference: "The one thing that Uwe Rosler has done is he's left a fit group behind and that's always good from a coaching perspective.

"But we want to work a little bit on that sharpness, that first five, ten yards where it makes a real difference in the game", Evans added.

Evans has arranged a friendly game for Leeds over the international break and will take the Whites to face Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park on Friday 13th November.

Wycombe saw their league fixture cancelled due to international call-ups and Evans is keen for his side to have a competitive game to keep sharp.
