Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier is looking forward to the experience of being in the England squad next week.

The 21-year-old midfielder earner his first England call-up yesterday, when Roy Hodgson included him in his squad that will face Spain and France next week in international friendlies.

The Tottenham man has been in impressive form for Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season and has been one of the most integral parts of a side that haven’t lost in the league since going down at Manchester United on the opening day.

Dier has been a regular for the England Under-21s for a while and is now proud to finally earn his first call up to the senior squad. He is looking forward to the experience of being in the England team and wants to enjoy himself next week.

The midfielder told Spurs TV: “It was a very proud moment for me and my family.

“It has been a dream since I was a kid. I am really happy and hopefully I can go there, enjoy myself and do well.”

Tottenham team-mates Harry Kane and Dele Alli are also in the squad and Dier admits that it will be a lot more comfortable experience for him because of the presence of the Spurs duo.

“It is always nice when you go with other boys from the club and I think it makes it a little easier. I know some of the lads from the younger age group, so I am looking forward to it.”
