Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia has had surgery on his injured foot and is now aiming to embark upon his rehabilitation process.

The Ecuador international hurt his foot in the first half of the Manchester derby against Manchester City last month, though he did continue until the second half.

Valencia took to social media to post a photograph of himself in a hospital bed and confirmed he has undergone surgery on his injury.

The Red Devil also wrote: "Thank God came out well from the operation. Now think about my recovery."

The injury is a blow for Valencia as he had just succeeded in pushing summer signing Matteo Darmian out of position.
