Pescara striker Gianluca Lapadula has vowed not to spend time thinking about rumoured interest from Liverpool as he feels it could affect his run of scoring goals.

Lapadula joined Serie B side Pescara from Parma in the summer after his contract with the club was cancelled due to the side slipping into bankruptcy.

The 25-year-old has wasted no time in making his presence felt with Pescara and currently leads the Serie B scoring charts with six goals to his name.

Lapadula has heard of interest from Liverpool, but does not want to spend a second thinking about it.

He was quoted as telling Tuttosport by Calcio Mercato: "If I start to think about it then I wouldn't score anymore."

The striker, who was born in Turin, admits that Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero is the player that inspired him as a youngster.

And that was despite growing up close to Torino's Stadio Filadelfia.

"My house is 200 metres from the Stadio Filadelfia, but I supported Juve. I grew up inspired by Del Piero."

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool make good on their interest in Lapadula when the transfer window swings back open again in the new year.
