Leeds United boss Steve Evans says he was eager to play a friendly against Wycombe Wanderers on Friday evening to give the club's fans in the south of England an opportunity to watch their heroes live.
Evans has had his players who are not on international duty in for training every day this week in the lead up to the game and has explained his thinking over the friendly.
The former Rotherham United boss acknowledges that he could have held a behind-closed-doors friendly game, but insists he wants the competitive atmosphere which will provided by fans.
And the Scot is keen for Leeds supporters, who he says are based as far afield as Africa, to have an extra opportunity to watch their side in action.
He told LUTV: "It's a competitive game and that's what we wanted. We could have chosen to do what we've done before in play closed doors on Thursday or Friday.

"But we've got a lot of fans in the south of the country – we've got a lot of fans in Africa and everywhere! – who may just have an opportunity to bring their kids or themselves and take in a Leeds United fixture that otherwise, if we'd played here privately on a Friday, they wouldn't see."
Following back-to-back league wins, Leeds now sit 15th in the Championship table with 19 points from 16 games.
Next up for the Whites in the Championship is a visit from Rotherham United on 21st November, a side now managed by former Leeds boss Neil Redfearn.
