Leeds United manager Steve Evans feels communication with players is crucial to maintaining dressing room harmony and believes his methods allow him to see trouble approaching.

The former Rotherham boss took charge at Elland Road last month, when he replaced Uwe Rosler as the manager of Leeds.

The Scot, with his effervescent style of management, has managed to stem the rot at Leeds and did put together a winning run before the international break.

Evans is said to be popular amongst the players and is known for keeping the dressing room happy with his style of management.

However, he also feels that he is well versed in management and will be able to spot signs which could lead to dressing room unrest at Leeds.

Evans stressed the importance of maintaining a communication channel with all the players in the squad and believes a manager will be able to know if things are going wrong, if he continues to talk to his players.

The Leeds boss told Sky Sports News HQ's Soccer Saturday: “You have to be communicating with players. You'll know if there is a change in the dressing room and a swing.

“Especially [communicate with] your experienced players, not just your captain, and also your young players. You have to take a cross mix on it.

“But if you are speaking to your players, you see the problems coming over the hill.”

Evans will be hoping that his players respond positively to his management when they host his former club Rotherham at Elland Road this weekend.
