Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is still confident that his side will beat Wolfsburg in Germany next month to guarantee their place in the last 16 of the competition.
Van Gaal’s men lost a golden opportunity to book their last 16 berth last night when they played out a 0-0 stalemate against PSV Eindhoven at Old Trafford and their future in the competition remains uncertain.
While still they are second in their group and their fate remain in their own hands, Manchester United will need to go to the Volkswagen Arena and beat Wolfsburg next month to guarantee their place in the last 16.
Despite the precarious position, Van Gaal remains confident that they can beat Wolfsburg away from home to qualify for the first knockout round of the Champions League next month.
While he admits that Wolfsburg have a good record at home, he believes Manchester United have shown they can beat them and is confident that they can do the same in Germany.

Van Gaal told MUTV: "We are still second and are still in the qualifying position.
“We have to win in Wolfsburg and that's a difficult game, but everything is possible, it is never impossible. We won at home against them, so why can't we win away? We can win everywhere.
“We prove it this year. Also in the Premier League, our average in away matches is much higher than last year. And we have to do that also in the Champions League."
Wolfsburg won last night at CSKA Moscow to go to the top of Group B.
