Leeds United manager Steve Evans feels that striker Chris Wood could have done without heading off on New Zealand duty over the international break as he would have liked to have worked with the former Leicester City man to improve his sharpness.
Wood's performance in general has pleased Evans, but the Scot feels the striker could be sharper. And while he is happy to have international players in his ranks, he does miss the chance to work with them over the break.
The New Zealand striker has found the back of the net six times since joining this summer from Leicester for £3m.
The manager feels that Wood can get better, insisting that the 23-year-old needs to be sharper up front
Speaking about the overall campaign of the striker, was quoted as saying by the Yorkshire Evening Post: “I think he’s done okay.

"He has got to get himself a little bit sharper, but again we are working on these things."
The Kiwi striker had been amongst goals while going into the international break earlier in the month, scoring in the 3-0 derby win against Huddersfield.
While the 53-year-old manager won't begrudge his players getting some much needed international playing time, he insists that sometimes having players at the training ground instead of sending them away could be important.
“When you come in, you can’t always do these things very quickly. When the international break came, he was off to the Gulf for eight or nine days with his country.
“As much as I respect and love the fact that we have international players, sometimes there’s little periods of time where you would love them to be here.”
