Leeds United starlet Chris Dawson has confirmed his departure from the Elland Road club after 15 years with the Whites.

Dawson, 21, has seen his opportunities to break into the first team severely limited despite making his senior debut in 2013, and today announced that he is leaving Leeds.

The highly-rated youngster issued a statement bidding farewell to the Whites and thanking the club and players for their support throughout his time at Thorp Arch.

Dawson wrote: "Today my 15 years at LUFC has come to an end.

"So many great memories to take away with me and would like to thank all the staff that have helped me progress throughout my time here", he continued.

"Also couldn't ask for a better group of lads to have played with and I wish them all the best in the future."

A product of Leeds' esteemed youth system, Dawson looked set for big things when handed his debut by Neil Warnock in 2013.  However, injury struggles soon derailed his progress.

He was back in the first team in 2014 under Neil Redfearn, but did not head on the club's pre-season tour last summer and was not assigned a first team squad number for this season.

It remains to be seen what Dawson's next move will be, but at 21 the youngster has many years of football ahead.
