Former Fiorentina midfielder Sandro Cois wants the Italian team to win their Europa League Round of 32 first leg clash against Tottenham Hotspur comprehensively tonight as he is expecting a tougher challenge in the return leg in north London later in the month.

Spurs, who have been fine form in the present campaign, won their Europa League group by bagging 13 points from six games, losing just once.




In addition to their good record on the European front, Mauricio Pochettino’s team presently find themselves second in the Premier League with 51 points, just two adrift of leaders Leicester City.

And Cois, who is aware of Tottenham’s fine performances this season, has urged Fiorentina to try to win the tie tonight by recording a big victory at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
 


“Tottenham are surely a very tough team seeing how they are playing and their league position”, Cois told Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

“The British, however, are very different away from home and I think that tomorrow Fiorentina will play to qualify because then London it will be very tough."

Fiorentina, who are currently third in Serie A with 49 points, eight behind leaders and champions Juventus, ousted Tottenham from the Europa League last season.
