Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has blamed his side’s inefficiency in front of goal for their FA Cup exit at the hands of Crystal Palace.

Former Liverpool defender Martin Kelly scored for Crystal Palace on the stroke of half-time to give the lead to the away side at White Hart Lane, and despite Spurs controlling the game for much of the second half Alan Pardew’s men held on to book their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

It was Palace’s first win over London rivals Tottenham since 1997, and after a horrendous run of nine league games without a win, the Eagles have something to cheer about in the FA Cup.

Tottenham dominated possession and had 19 attempts on Palace’s goal, but couldn’t find the back of the net, and Pochettino feels that they just didn’t show enough efficiency in front of goal, which cost them a place in the last eight of the competition.

The Tottenham boss told the BBC: "It was tough.

"There was no tiredness. If we analysed the game we played better but you need to score. It's hard to explain.”

Tottenham will now prepare for Fiorentina’s visit for the second leg of their Europa League round of 32 tie on Thursday.
