Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits he has not decided what he will say to his players before they head out for the League Cup final against Manchester City this afternoon.

Klopp has only been in charge of Liverpool since October, but has already managed to guide the Reds to Wembley, where they are due to meet Manuel Pellegrini's men.

Klopp has experience of finals, having led former club Borussia Dortmund to a number of showpieces, including the Champions League final against Bayern Munich.

He has not though decided what he will say to his players yet, although he is sure he will find the right words to inspire them.

"I never write it down, that’s for sure", he told LFC TV.

"We will have a few words together and hopefully the right ones, but they [won’t] decide the game. It is only one part of all things of preparation.

"It’s always spontaneous, it’s always like this and I never plan things like this.

"My whole life is preparation for all the things I say, and that’s how it is", Klopp continued.

"When I forget something, it was not important enough. I will have the right words. It will not be because of my words that we will lose the game but hopefully I can help a little bit."

Liverpool's last major trophy came in 2012 in the form of the League Cup, although then manager Kenny Dalglish was sacked just months later by the club's American owners following a poor finish in the Premier League.
