Leeds United boss Steve Evans has insisted that he doesn’t fear for his job at Elland Road, and indicated that speculation is part and parcel of a football manager’s life.
Their humiliating 4-0 loss at Brighton has brought Evans’ work at Leeds intp sharp focus, and a run of just one win out of their last eleven Championship fixtures is also not helping the Scot’s cause.
While Leeds are confident of avoiding relegation this season, there are fears that if they don’t get a win under their belt soon, they might have to start looking over their shoulders in the league table.
Speculation is rampant that Evans could go if things don’t improve soon, but the Leeds boss indicated that such rumours are part and parcel of his job and they would go away if the team start performing again.
The Leeds boss said in a press conference: “I read the words of the Celtic manager [Ronny Deila] this week, when he says how secure is anyone in football is these days.

“We are watching a manager in Manchester [Louis van Gaal], who is under daily pressure from the media and television reports, which say he is going to lose his job.
“Suddenly they bounce back, and they are not speaking about it today, but they could be speaking about it again on Sunday morning.”
He stressed that he is not afraid to lose his job, and indicated that he would respect the decision of the chairman if he is asked to leave Leeds.
“I never lie in fear of losing my job, because I work too hard and people have to make decisions whether they want you, whether they don’t.
"I have always respected the decisions of the chairman, whether at Rotherham, Crawley, Boston or Leeds United.”
