Leeds United legend Eddie Gray is confident that the Whites won’t get sucked into the relegation quagmire this season, but admits that they need to improve their performances soon.
Currently on a run of just one win from their last eleven Championship games, Evans’ men are not enjoying 2016 at the moment and their poor form has seen them drop down to 18th in the league table on 38 points.
Monday night’s 4-0 thrashing at Brighton gave jitters to the football club, and despite enjoying a nine-point gap on the relegation zone, there are fears the Leeds could be looking over their shoulders if their form doesn’t improve in the coming weeks.
Gray believes Leeds have enough points in the bag at the moment to avoid relegation this season, and is confident that they can win a few more games until the end of the campaign, if they can improve on their recent performances.
On the question of getting involved in the relegation dogfight, the Leeds legend said on LUTV: “I don’t think it will happen.

“We have got enough points in the bag, and I think we are good enough to win at least four or five of the fixtures we have got left, if we play the game properly.
“And that’s the important factor, we have to play properly.”
To calm their jittery nerves, Leeds are keen to bag the three points on offer against relegation candidates Bolton Wanderers today at Elland Road.
