Former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan thinks Sol Bamba produced a captain's performance for the Whites in their 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
Bamba started the afternoon on the bench, but was drafted on for the second half after Liam Cooper picked up an injury.
And the former Palermo centre-back put his all into the game, throwing his body on the line to make sure Leeds saw out the game and claimed all three Championship points.
Whelan was hugely impressed with what he saw from Bamba, feeling the Ivorian answered his critics following a poor display in the Whites' 4-0 drubbing at Brighton on Monday night.
"Sometimes you see how people react when they've made a mistake, and Sol Bamba proved that today", Whelan said on BBC Radio Leeds after the match.

"We got a great reaction from him and he's the club captain for a reason.
"He was strong, powerful, winning headers and showing great pace. It was all his good things and attributes that we love seeing", he added.
Bamba will hope to have done enough to keep his place in the team when Leeds travel to Wales to take on Cardiff City on Tuesday evening.
Cardiff are on the cusp of the top six and mounting a strong bid for playoff spot.
