Tottenham Hotspur starlet Harry Winks has insisted that he has progressed a great deal since the start of the season.

The midfielder, who signed a new deal with Spurs yesterday which will keep him at White Hart Lane until 2019, has thus far made two senior appearances for the club this season.

Winks made his first team debut for Tottenham last season when he came on as a late substitute against Partizan Belgrade in a Europa League game; it was to be the 20-year-old’s only senior appearance for the north London outfit in the 2014/15 campaign.

The youngster’s two first team appearances this season have also come in the continental competition, with the latest being in the 3-0 win over Fiorentina last month.

And Winks, who admitted that he has learnt a lot from his team-mates and manager Mauricio Pochettino, explained that he wants to accumulate more first team minutes under his belt.

"I’ve definitely progressed and I feel I’ve come a long way since the start of the season", he told the club’s official site.

"I’ve learned a lot from the manager, from the players and everyone around the club.

"I’m really enjoying my time, loving it. I just want to take that next step now and that’s to play a few more minutes and generally kick on."

Winks, who is a product of Tottenham’s youth system, has represented England up to Under-20 level.
