Rangers boss Mark Warburton has stressed the need for his players to use the four-day break he has handed them wisely, before they return to training to prepare for the Scottish Cup final on 21st May.

The Gers, who have enjoyed an impressive 2015/16 season under their manager, are enjoying some time off before they are brought back in to training.

Warburton's men have a lengthy period during which to prepare to take on Hibernian in the cup final and they will also play a friendly fixture against Tottenham Hotspur.

However, ahead of that the 53-year-old manager feels that it is important for his players to make full use of the break they have as it has been a grueling season for them.

“It’s really important that the players use their time off wisely. They’ve worked hard and earned these four days off," the manager told his club's official website.

“It’s a chance to rest, to recover, to take some time off with their family, go away for a few days and they need that after a long and hard season."

Praising the young players for their attitude and their ability to work hard, the manager said that the players have done well and the results have been recognition of their work.

“Don’t forget that they are young players and that there are a number of players who have played in nearly every minute of every game like Lee Wallace, Wes Foderingham and James Tavernier and it’s a real testament to them.

“All over the park they have played a high number of games, which has a high demand on them physically.

"They have done really well with that and coped really well and now they can have their rest to be ready for the cup final.”
