Gabala have snapped up Andy Halliday from Rangers on a season-long loan deal.

The midfielder has fallen out of favour with new Gers boss Pedro Caixinha and the Portuguese has now shipped Halliday out for the year.

He heads to join up with a side that finished as runners-up in the Azerbaijani league last season, meaning they are involved in the Europa League this season.

Gabala are entering in the second qualifying round and will face either Dinamo Batumi or Jagiellona Bialystock.

Caixinha left Halliday out of his squad for the Europa League in a sign that the midfielder's days at Rangers this season were numbered.
