Jose Mourinho is not yet willing to think about whether he can lead Manchester United to the Premier League title this season.

The Red Devils continued their superb start under Mourinho on Saturday when thrashing Crystal Palace 4-0 and his men sit level on points with league leaders Manchester City, both sides boasting 19 points.

The two Manchester clubs already have a five-point advantage over third placed Tottenham Hotspur and the title race is increasingly being talked about as a battle between the Red Devils and the Citizens.

But Mourinho will not think yet about whether he can lead Manchester United to the title this season as he feels it is too early.

"It's too early, it's too early – only seven matches", he was quoted as saying by beIN Sports.

Mourinho also insisted he is not thinking about the key men his side are missing through injury, with big figures Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic both out.

Indeed, the Portuguese feels that injuries to players are opportunities for others to step up and fill the void.

"We never miss the players that are injured.

"That is our way of thinking. They are injured, we don't think about them.

"It is an opportunity and a moment for others to step up and get the chance, so I think that is good.

"When we moan all the time about injuries it looks like we don't trust the other people and we have to", Mourinho added.

Manchester United's title credentials will undergo another examination after the international break when they make the trip to face rivals Liverpool at Anfield.
