West Ham midfield target William Carvalho has emerged as a target for Inter Milan ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Portuguese midfielder’s future at Sporting Lisbon has been subject to much conjecture of the last few years, with suggestions that clubs across Europe are interested in signing him.

West Ham were interested in signing him last summer and offered a club record transfer fee but Sporting Lisbon refused to sell, leading to a bitter feud between the two clubs.

The Hammers are expected to try their luck again this time around but there could be more competition for his signature as according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, William is a target for Inter as well.

The Nerazzurri are involved in a tough fight to finish in Serie A’s top four and have been making plans for next season with Champions League football in mind.

If Inter qualify for Europe’s premier club competition, club bosses are prepared to spend big in the summer and William  is a player they want to bring in.

Apart from West Ham and Inter, Paris Saint-German have also been keeping tabs on the Portugal international.

He has a release clause worth €40m to €45m in his contract but so far his suitors have been wary of offering that kind of money to Sporting Lisbon.
