Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain believes that if someone at the start of the season said that he would end the term with a title winners' medal he would have dubbed them mad.

The 26-year-old put pen-to-paper to a four-year contract at Celtic Park earlier this week, making his temporary move from Dundee permanent.

Bain insists that he is over the moon with the contract, thanking the stars for him coming to the club, getting to play matches and in the end signing a four-year contract.

The goalkeeper also feels if someone had told him at the start of the season that such a thing would arise he would not have believe them.

"I'm over the moon", the goalkeeper was quoted as saying by STV.

"In my mind it was always a case of coming and making an impression.

"A lot of things have fell for me this season in terms of the stars have aligned with the circumstances of me getting here and getting to play and it's ended with this four-year deal.

"If you had said at the start of the season at Dundee that I would be ending the season as a champion I'd have said you were mad. "

Bain was handed his debut against Rangers in March after fellow goalkeeper Dorus De Vries was ruled out just a day before the match.

Since then he has managed six appearances for the club, including two appearances in the league.
