Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock has lauded Jurgen Klopp for making Liverpool one of the best teams in the division by efficiently addressing their weaknesses with top players.
The Bluebirds reignited their hopes of avoiding relegation at the end of the season with an impressive 2-0 win away from home at Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday in the Premier League.
However, Cardiff continue to remain in the relegation zone and are two points adrift of Brighton, who have a game in hand over the Welsh giants, ahead of their meeting with table-toppers Liverpool.
And as they prepare to host league leaders Liverpool in their own backyard on Sunday, Warnock has tipped his hat towards Klopp for making the Reds one of the best teams in the division.
The Cardiff boss admitted it is difficult to compare Liverpool with the great sides from the past, but insisted Klopp has done a fantastic job to make them one of the best at the moment by addressing their weaknesses efficiently.
“It’s difficult to compare the great sides because football’s changed so much”, Warnock told a press conference.
“I remember when I was young, your Ron Yeats and that and people like [Ian] Callaghan. I loved Callaghan. And [Ian] Rush and [Kenny] Dalglish and all them.
“It was such a different game back when I was growing up. They were the best back then by a mile. And I think these are, along with Man City, the best by a mile at the moment.
“They’re one of the best in the world. Jurgen’s done a fabulous job.
“It’s all about balance. There were one or two weaknesses and he’s filled those weaknesses, with top players.”
Cardiff suffered a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool during the reverse fixture between the sides in the Premier League in October.
