Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds are known for having high fitness levels, which enable them in maintaining their high intensity football throughout the 90 minutes.

Although Arsenal won 4-2 against Leeds in the top flight on Sunday through their four first half strikes, the Gunners had first hand experience of the indomitable spirit the Whites carry when they hit back and scored twice.

And former Leeds hitman Beckford is of the view that Arsenal are going to struggle against Manchester City in their upcoming league clash on Sunday, having had a tough 90 minutes against Leeds in their latest league outing.

Beckford feels that almost all of Leeds’ opponents do not have the proper time to recover after battling it out with the Yorkshire giants.

Asked whether he thinks trying to keep up with Leeds on the pitch takes a lot out of their opponents, Beckford told the official Leeds United Podcast: “They [Arsenal] have got Manchester City up next as well.

“So that is not going it be an easy game and I could pretty much say they are going to lose that.

“Not just because Manchester City are an incredible football team and they are on one of the best runs in the Premier League currently, but every team that play against Leeds United, in the following game they struggle because their fitness levels, their recovery times are not [as productive], they struggle.

“They are just going to struggle.

“They are not going to have enough time to recover and they are going to be chasing shadows again.

“You know, it is what it is.”

Arsenal are currently amidst a tight run of games and have a Europa League clash against Benfica today, ahead of the Citizens encounter and all eyes will be on how Gunners boss Mikel Arteta manages the workload on his charges.
