Draxler is out of contract in the summer and has long been tipped to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.

PSG have been trying to sell the German over the last few transfer windows and has been linked with a host of clubs, including Arsenal and Hertha Berlin.

Leeds are also a potential destination for Draxler, but the narrative around the attacking midfielder changed recently when PSG sporting director Leonardo claimed that the club are planning to offer him a new contract.

And according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Pochettino is also in favour of keeping Draxler at the Parc des Princes beyond the summer.

The 27-year-old has started three of PSG’s last four league games and has earned the trust of the former Tottenham Hotspur boss.

The Argentine is a fan of Draxler’s versatility and believes he will continue to remain a useful option in his PSG squad.

The Parisians are set to offer him a new deal but it is likely to be worth less than the €7m he is currently earning.

It remains to be seen if Draxler is prepared to pen a fresh deal, but he is happy with life in the French capital.
