The Merseyside-based club have made strides forward since Italian tactician Carlo Ancelotti took over the reins at Goodison Park in December 2019.

Everton currently sit eighth in the Premier League table with 47 points, five points behind fourth-placed West Ham, and are well in the race for a top four finish, with a game in hand.

While the Goodison Park outfit still have nine more games to play in the league this season, they have started planning for the upcoming season.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Everton are among the clubs interested in Marseille striker Germain and have made enquiries, without yet going further.

The 30-year-old forward looks set to become a free agent in the summer and clubs including AC Milan, Rennes and Bordeaux are monitoring his situation.

Ancelotti’s side are interested and have tested the water.

Everton were linked with a move for Germain before he joined Marseille from Monaco four years ago and could potentially reignite their interest in the player this summer.
