Spurs’ search for a new manager has hit a few obstacles since Jose Mourinho was sacked by the club earlier in the month.

Their top target Julian Nagelsmann agreed to leave RB Leipzig to join Bayern Munich and will be signing a five-year contract with the German giants.

Ten Hag was believed to be next on their shortlist and there were claims that the club were closely looking at him as their potential manager.

But the north London club are set to miss out on another one of their targets as the Dutchman has signed a new contract with Ajax.

The 51-year-old has been at Ajax since 2017 and has earned praise for the kind of attacking football the Dutch giants play under him.

Ajax have managed to convince him to sign a new deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2023.

With Ten Hag committing his future to Ajax, Tottenham will be looking at other targets as they look to finalise a manager.

The north London club are keen to announce the appointment of the new manager by the end of the season.
