Zouma looked destined to join West Ham this week after the Hammers reached an agreement over a fee with Chelsea for his signature.

The Frenchman also had an agreement over personal terms with West Ham and was scheduled to undergo a medical ahead of his proposed transfer.

But it emerged on Wednesday night that the deal had hit choppy waters due to some issues that cropped up between Chelsea and West Ham.

The Hammers were trying to resuscitate the negotiations, but according to French sports daily L’Equipe, the talks have completely collapsed.

It has been claimed that Chelsea and West Ham had major disagreements over the structure of the proposed deal.

And for the moment, there is little to no chance of Zouma joining West Ham before the end of the window.

West Ham still want a centre-back and it remains to be seen who they turn to this later in the transfer window.
