Ronaldo left Old Trafford in the summer of 2009 for Real Madrid with three Premier League titles, a Champions League and a Ballon d’Or after six years at the club.
The 36-year-old shocked the football fraternity this summer, announcing his return to Manchester United, but the jury is out on how well he will fare in his second Red Devils stint.
Ex-Manchester City star Sinclair believes Ronaldo will not be able to every play every game for Manchester United at a late stage of his career and be top class every time, as he will feel tired owing to the intensity of the Premier League.
Sinclair added that Ronaldo will have to share the workload up front with Edinson Cavani and it is up to boss Solskjaer to regulate the Portuguese’s game time wisely.
While discussing how Ronaldo will fare at Manchester United this season, Sinclair told talkSPORT: “Ronaldo will have the starts, but when his legs start tiring, because the intensity is unbelievable in the Premier League, when his legs start tiring Edinson Cavani will get a chance and they will dovetail throughout the season.
“He will not be able to play [every game even if he is super fit].
“Manchester United play 60 games, he will not be able to play every game and be top drawer for every game and so that will be down to Ole to plan his games, when he wants him to make the impact, when he wants him to play.”
Ronaldo will link up with his new team-mates after the international break and will be determined to prove all his doubters wrong with a strong first season back at Old Trafford.
