Aaronson joined the Austrian outfit in last year’s winter transfer window and has earned praise for his performances throughout his spell there so far.

This season, he has made 26 appearances overall for the Austrian champions, including playing almost every minute of the club’s Champions League group stage.

The Whites’ squad has come under strain this season due to injuries and they have put in a bid for Aaronson, which has been rejected.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa’ side though are at the moment still concentrated only on Aaronson and have no other offers lodged.

The Whites consider securing the services of the young midfielder a priority and have made him their top target this window.

Leeds’ struggles with injuries saw them edge uncomfortably close to the relegation zone and Bielsa will be eager to avoid it happening again and move further from the bottom three.

The Austrian club are looking to defend their league title and also have a clash with German giants Bayern Munich in the Champions League coming up and are unwilling to let go of a key player such as Aaronson.
