Zakaria will be out of contract at the end of the season and has refused to sign a new deal with the German club.

Gladbach are open to offers for him in January but so far there are no bids on their table for the Swiss midfielder.

Manchester United have shown an interest in the midfielder and Ralf Rangnick spoke with the player’s representatives over a potential move in the winter window.

But according to Sky Deutschland, Manchester United are no longer warm to the idea of signing the Switzerland international.

They have taken a look at the prospect of taking him to Old Trafford but are claimed to have decided otherwise.

Manchester United want to do the bulk of their business in the summer but are open to signing players in January if a long-term target becomes available.

And it seems Zakaria is not the kind of player Manchester United are looking to add to their squad.

Zakaria has other suitors as well, with Bayern Munich and Juventus believed to be interested in signing him.
