Conte’s long-term future at Tottenham is under the scanner as he is heavily linked with an exit, with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain having him in their sights as their new potential coach.

The Italian’s current deal at Spurs runs through until the summer of 2023, but he is set to hold talks with club chairman Daniel Levy and managing director of football Fabio Paratici following this season to discuss whether he will remain in his current job.

Brighton boss Potter, Italy coach Roberto Mancini and PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino are the names linked with the Tottenham job if it becomes vacant in the summer.

And the Seagulls boss has emerged as the frontrunner to replace Conte, should he leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer.

Potter’s current deal at the Amex Stadium only expires in the summer of 2025, and Spurs will have to pay a figure in excess of £10m as compensation to snare him away.

The 46-year-old was one of the names Levy considered last summer when Tottenham were looking to find a replacement for Jose Mourinho, and he is still under consideration for the managerial role, while Paratici is also impressed with the work he has done in East Sussex.

Whether Spurs will earn Champions League football for next season will have a significant impact on their spending power in the summer, which could in turn become a factor in Conte’s future.
