The Brazilian has been one of Leeds’ standout players in the Premier League, even though it has been a tough campaign as they toil in the drop zone.
While Leeds’ prospects of playing top flight football next season hanging in the balance, Raphinha’s future at the club is also under the scanner as he is heavily linked with interest from Spanish giants Barcelona.
The Catalans have put the winger at the top of their summer transfer wish list and are preparing to step up their efforts to snare him away from Elland Road.
It has been reported that Raphinha has a €25m release clause in his current contract at Leeds, that can be triggered in the summer if they lose their top flight status.
However, according to Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo, the Brazil international does not have any written release clause written into his deal at Leeds.
It is claimed that Raphinha believes he can leave for €25m, but there is no clause that specifies that.
Barcelona are tipped to swoop for Raphinha regardless of whether Leeds stay in the Premier League or not, and they will have to sit at the negotiating table to sort out a deal either way, but are likely to get him for a lower fee if the Whites suffer relegation.
The Bluagrana will keep a close eye on Leeds’ last three league games of the season, as results from those clashes will end up having an impact on their chances of landing Raphinha’s signature.
