The 24-year-old full-back is one of the top targets for Newcastle this summer as the club look to bring in a progressive left-back.

With Newcastle yet to take a decision on whether to sign Matt Targett this summer, the club are considering moves in the market.

The Magpies are reportedly expected to hold talks with Lodi’s representatives over a potential transfer soon.

But it has been claimed that there has been no contact between the two clubs for the left-back’s potential move.

Newcastle did business with Atletico Madrid in January when they signed Kieran Trippier and there is a prior relationship.

The Magpies would be prepared to meet Lodi’s wage demands and Juventus are interested in signing him.

There are claims that Newcastle could have to fork out around £35m to snare Lodi away from the Wanda Metropolitano.

But the negotiations are still at an early stage and Newcastle are still very much considering their options.
