The Brazilian joined Tottenham last summer from La Liga outfit Barcelona, and largely remained the first choice at right-back or right-wing back in his first season at the club.

But Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is still eyeing reinforcements in the right-wing back position and Spurs are pushing to land Djed Spence from Middlesbrough.

It has been claimed that if Spurs snap up Spence they could decide to let one of their options in the right-wing back role go; they currently have Emerson and Matt Doherty.

And Emerson has popped up on the transfer radar of La Liga giants Atletico Madrid, who are keen to snap him up this summer.

However, as it stands, Tottenham do not want to sell the Brazil international in the ongoing window, even though he has potential suitors in the Rojiblancos.

Moreover, Emerson is also reportedly not keen on leaving the north London giants amidst having admirers in Spain.

It remains to be seen whether Atletico Madrid act upon their interest in Emerson and make concrete moves for him, although a transfer at present looks unlikely.
