Spurs have had a busy start to their summer transfer window, having completed three new signings, while more business is expected in the coming weeks.

In addition to bolstering their squad with quality additions, moving on fringe players is also a key part of managing director of football Fabio Paratici’s transfer strategy.

Midfielder Lo Celso is one player Tottenham want to offload in the ongoing window, and La Liga outfit Villarreal, who signed him in the latter half of last term on loan wants to snap him up permanently this summer; there are also other La Liga sides keen.

However, according to Spanish daily Estadio Deportivo, Spurs’ €30m asking price for Lo Celso is making it difficult for him to find a way out of the club.

As it stands, Spurs would have to lower the price they have put on Lo Celso’s head, and they could end up seeking a fee in the €20m range for him.

But €20m is tipped to be too high for Villarreal, while Lo Celso has also been offered to their top flight rivals Atletico Madrid.

Any fees from departures are expected to be added to Antonio Conte’s transfer war chest and Tottenham will be looking to get as much as they can from all the players they are ready to sell, including Lo Celso.
