The 22-year-old defender has two years left on his contract at Juventus and the Italian giants have been trying to convince him to sign a new deal.

Amidst the contract negotiations, the defender has also been linked with a move away from the Turin club this summer.

Chelsea are claimed to hold an interest in signing the Dutchman, while Manchester United have also been linked.

According to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, De Ligt is pushing for a move to the Premier League in the ongoing transfer window.

He is aware of the interest from English clubs and now wants to test himself in the Premier League next season.

The defender is not interested in signing a new contract, which could convince Juventus to let him go this summer.

However, he has a €115m release clause and Juventus are not keen to negotiate a fee for his departure.
