Antonio Conte wants to sign a left-footed centre-back for his Spurs squad that finished fourth in the Premier League and qualified for the Champions League.

Tottenham’s top target, Alessandro Bastoni, is likely to stay at Inter and Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol’s potential transfer fee is prohibitive for Spurs.

The north London club have been in talks with Lenglet and have made an offer to the Frenchman to move to England this summer.

And according to Catalan daily Sport, Spurs want an answer from the Frenchman in the next 48 hours.

Tottenham want Lenglet and are pushing to take him to the Premier League but they are not willing to wait forever.

They have set a deadline for the Frenchman to make up his mind and want his answer in the next two days.

Barcelona are willing to sell the defender and are  hoping that he will agree to move to Tottenham.

His departure would help the Catalan giants save €10m per year and open up a slot to sign a centre-back this summer.
