Spurs boss Antonio Conte is keen on having Zaniolo at his disposal this season as he looks to further bolster his options in the final third.

Tottenham managing director of football Fabio Paratici has been working on getting a deal done for the winger and Spurs have submitted a cash plus player offer for him, which includes €55m in addition to the services of centre-back Japhet Tanganga.

Giallorossi boss Mourinho is keen on having Zaniolo in his ranks for this season but the club are claimed to be open to selling him for the right price.

And according to Italian daily La Repubblica, the Portuguese is currently working to prevent the Roma hierarchy from letting Zaniolo leave the club.

Mourinho is looking to block the 23-year-old’s from exiting the Stadio Olimpico as Roma have now got a concrete offer for him on the table from the north London giants.

Roma’s hierarchy are determined to back Mourinho as he looks to take the club back to their glory days and he sees Zaniolo playing a part in his plans.

It remains to be seen what decision the deal-makers at the Rome giants ultimately take over Zaniolo’s immediate future with Tottenham keen on snaring him away.
