Gakpo’s future at PSV Eindhoven is under the scanner while he tries to focus on getting the club back into the Champions League group stage.

He has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League where Nottingham Forest recently entered the chase for his services.

Manchester United are also tracking him at the request of Erik ten Hag and his representatives have been contacted by the Red Devils.

And it has been claimed that he would prefer a move to Manchester United over other Premier League sides.

He scored 21 goals in 47 appearances last season and netted twice in PSV’s 4-1 opening-day win against FC Emmen on Saturday.

Manchester United turned their attention towards Gakpo after failing to convince Ajax to sell Antony this summer.

The Dutchman is focused on PSV’s Champions League qualifiers and a move could only happen towards the end of the window.

Ten Hag wants more reinforcements soon following Manchester United’s opening day defeat to Brighton at Old Trafford.
