Toffees boss Frank Lampard has confirmed that his side have funds to bolster their attack in the remaining days of the window while they have identified a number of attacking targets.
Everton are closing in on a move for Neal Maupay from Brighton & Hove Albion, and it has been suggested that they could add more than one attacker to their ranks before next week’s transfer deadline.
The Toffees have identified Blackburn star Brereton Diaz as a potential recruit and have already registered their interest in a move for him in a formal capacity.
However, Everton are facing competition for Brereton Diaz’s services as Ligue 1 club Nice, who have qualified for the Europa League, also have him in their sights.
And Spanish side Celta Vigo have now added to the clubs keen on snapping up the Blackburn man in the ongoing window.
It has been suggested that Everton have already bid for the Chilean, although those claims are wide of the mark.
Brereton Diaz is keen on playing top flight football this season and have rebuffed offers to renew his deal at Blackburn, who have slapped a £15m asking price on his head.
